based on Werner Herzog's journal of the same name—a chronicle of his trek from Munich to Paris in winter on foot—this is a cold, impersonal journey through flaking ferric oxide, seizing cassette deck motors, frayed patch cables and broken gear; an exercise in failure, struggle, and futility.

A fitting end to a project that stood as a monument to obsolescence.
